What you've done around your home to be green?

I've installed:

  • Wood Burner
  • Thermal Solar Unit for hot water
  • Condensing Combi. Boiler for greater efficiency

Other things I do around the home include:

  • Recycling & composting
  • I have a vegetable garden
  • Installed energy efficient light bulbs
  • Installed insulation

I also have a water saver in the dual-flush loo.

Why did you do it:

For socio-economic reasons - to save money and to reduce our carbon footprint, with a view to one day leading a totally carbon neutral life.

What's next?

I'm vice-Chair of our local Parish Council*, who I signed up to being 'green' some time ago. I ensure that we plant trees around the village every year, for example, and I also organise a village Fayre each year and the next (August 23rd) will have a green theme: we have our local Green Group providing a recycled art competition and a local theatre group, Luna Arts, performing their interactive environmental-awareness play, 'What a Load of Rubbish!' among many other activities.
